US Senate passes Pesticide Registration Act

The US Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry has announced final passing (by voice vote) of the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act (PRIA). The Act now moves on the the President for signing into law.

The PRIA establishes a framework for the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) when registering pesticides.

The previous Pesticide Registration Improvement Renewal Act (PRIA 3) expired on February 15, 2019.  The new PRIA 4 includes technical changes and extends authority for EPA to collect updated pesticide registration and maintenance fees through FY 2023.
