Gene Williams elected Chair of SOCMA Board of Governors
The Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) is pleased to announce that Gene Williams, President of Optima Chemical Group, has been elected as Chairman of its Board of Governors. The association also elected officers to serve on its Executive Committee and added five new members to the Class of 2021 during its 97th Annual Business Meeting on Monday, December 10, in New York.
“It is an honor to lead this organization and serve with this outstanding group of specialty and fine chemical industry professionals during this exciting time of revitalization and growth,” said Williams. “With a reinvigorated association and an exceptional staff in place, we are primed to implement an aggressive marketing and membership strategy to better position SOCMA as the hub for the fine and specialty chemical industry. In doing so, we are looking to our new governors to share their expertise and insight to help guide this path forward.
“We also have an extraordinary group of officers serving on our Executive Committee,” said Williams. “These industry leaders bring a wealth of knowledge to the table that will be invaluable as we chart this new course. I look forward to serving with them as we strive to strengthen and refresh our brand, showcase our membership and promote growth within the industry.”
